I would like to know if this is a bug or by design as I was just updating my system from Windows build 1607 to build 1703 and the WM_SETTINGCHANGE is crashing my system when I try to run this on an installation that did not have Winaero Tweaker run before the update.
My Windows has no programs installed, and I click Play Store to be able to activate the phone part of the update. I ran it in Safe mode and got a whole bunch of “Malformed kdelt32.dll. In other words, it isn’t a valid PE file.” I have the same problem when I try to run this on a completely clean installation of Win10 build 1703 that has not been updated or has Winaero Tweaker installed. I am not sure if the problem is isolated to the Winaero Tweaker package. I also think it is running elevated, I am a firm believer in this as it did so with the content in the Winspool Tweaker.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 1703 today and I started the Winaero Tweaker to get connected to my phone and receive notifications but the process failed with the message “Unable to connect to Winaero Services. Try again later. Windows error 0x8007221A.”
I understand Winaero Tweaker is in fact an elevated process but I am wondering if there is anyway to kill it at the next log off because of the message in the title of this topic. Is there a way to make Winaero Tweaker open as a default user instead of the administrator account?
I also tried to install the NSIS installer version of Winaero Tweaker and it worked just fine.
